SALT LAKE (ABC 4 News) - If you don't want to end up on the side of the road with a state trooper at your car window, remember to watch your speed limit and buckle up.

Trooper Kammon Hiatt with Utah Highway Patrol took ABC 4 News along during his shift on I-15.

"People are in a rush to get places and tend to speed," Hiatt said. "They don't put their seat belt on and we have more injuries that way."

It didn't take long to spot someone driving not so safe. Someone was pulled over within minutes of our cameras rolling for not wearing a seat belt.

In about an hour, Hiatt pulled over five people. He's just one of several law enforcement on the road.

If you think you might drive past one these troopers unnoticed, think again.

"We definitely have more troopers out," Hiatt added. "We are making sure people stay safe."
