SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Utah's average gas price is down six cents from last month, ranking the state's gas 4th cheapest in the nation.

AAA says Tuesday that Utah's average price for a gallon of regular gasoline is now $3.47. That's seven cents lower than a year ago.

According to AAA, Ogden has the lowest average price at $3.39 per gallon. Salt Lake City's average is $3.57, while Vernal has the highest at $3.60 per gallon.

Utah prices are well below the national average price of $3.70, which jumped 32 cents in the past month.

Prices in July and August started climbing amid a leak in a Wisconsin pipeline and a fire at a refinery in California's Bay Area.
