OGDEN, Utah (ABC 4 News) - Home Depot announced that the company will open a new call and on line support center in Ogden next year that will bring nearly 700 new jobs to the Wasatch Front.

The on line call center will server homedepot.com, a subsidiary of Home Depot stores.

Ogden city leaders expressed excitement of the news.

Construction of the site should be completed in Spring of 2012, with hiring over the summer.

Home Depot's plan is to start taking calls Fall of 2012 and to be fully operational by end of 2012.

According to Home Depot, most of the positions will be full-time customer service jobs.

Home Depot said they chose Ogden because Utah offers an excellent base for recruitment.

They also said the Mountain Time Zone was considered to be beneficial.

The site of the new building complex was not immediately released.

What the story fails to mention is the over 400 employees who will be losing their jobs in the Baton Rouge & St Louis areas because of this move. This company does not care about their employees...only their bottom line...and I would think twice about working for them. A (soon-to-be-former) employee in Baton Rouge

After trying to buy and have installed, carpet through them, I can vouch for the fact that they need all the help they can get.
