Kerry Kinsey: I'm talking Atlanta Hawks in the summer?

For the first time in a long time, I’m talking NBA hoops in the summer. And, probably for the first time ever, I’m talking about the Atlanta Hawks. I’m excited about the 2009-2010 season because they had a stellar draft. Most draft experts gave them a B+.

There’s no question that the Hawks needed to pick a point guard. Have you seen Wake Forest product Jeff Teague? He’s quick as a cat and can shoot the lights out. The Hawks also shipped off Acie Law and Speedy Claxton to Golden State for Jamal Crawford. If veteran Mike Bibby takes a walk down free agency lane, the Hawks will still have somebody at the point.

Crawford can drop in 40 on any night. Joe Johnson will also want the rock, so we might have a problem with too many ball hogs. However, a lineup of Teague, Crawford, Johnson, Josh Smith, and Al Horford could put a scare into some teams. In addition, Marvin Williams will be coming off the bench and the Hawks still have the rights to Josh Childress. Maybe he's had enough of Greece now. This team should score a lot of points.  

What about a possible Josh Smith trade? Hey, don’t ask. Let me enjoy the moment…. because it’s summertime and I am talking about the Atlanta Hawks. Yessssssssssssssssssssssssssss
