Kerry Kinsey: ABC 4 employees like the Phillies over the Yankees

Are people in your workplace pulling for New York or Philadelphia in the World Series? Some people I know in Utah are not big fans of Major League Baseball. However, I think when the “October Classic” gets going; a lot of sports fans have a favorite.

The battle cry started last week when the series got going. It appears about 90 percent of the people in our newsroom are for Philadelphia. But, many of those Phillies fans are actually against anything New York. The Yankees are returning to the series for the first time since 2003.

I could tell which way people were leaning after the Phillies went up 1-0 and threatened to go up 2-zip in the Bombers’ House. You should have heard the collective groan in the newsroom when the Phillies fell just short of winning game two.

It’s not a scientific poll. But, it was easy to see that our workplace is pulling for the guys from the City of Brotherly Love.
