SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Utah Girl Scouts were at the downtown Farmers Market in Salt Lake City, but this time it, had nothing to do with Girl Scout Cookies.
It was the first annual Girl Scout Day. The message for visitors at the booth Saturday was eating local, and eating fresh. Bianca Windward, a senior Girl Scout, organized the event as part of her Gold Award. "It's good for our economy because you are supporting people within our area, and the environment, because you are not driving miles to get it here, and plus it's just healthier."
Bianca and other Girl Scouts demonstrated how to use Utah’s fresh produce in tasty dishes.
