As a Utah taxpayer, I will cease to patronize Hale Center Theatre if their move to Sandy is in any way funded by Utah taxpayer dollars. The city of West Valley made a lot of concessions to this group when they built the facility at their current site. The bidding war that the current Board has opened up between Sandy and WVC makes me, as a theatre patron sick to my stomach. The fact that HCT has made NO attempt to fundraise from their patrons before seeking state funding. They HAVE email addresses for everyone who buys tickets from them, and haven't so much as sent one email, saying: We're planning an expansion, would you donate to the cause? If they had? I'd have seen it. When you add that what they've already been asking WVC/Sandy to bid? This whole set of shenanigans makes me actually throw up in my mouth a little.
