SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - If it seems that nearly every county in the state of Utah is saying something different regarding who can get the H1N1 vaccine right now, you're right. The Utah State Health Department left who could get the vaccine until it becomes more widely available up to individual health departments and its causing some confusion.
So for each health department which has the same policy for each county, ABC 4 is breaking down who can get the swine flu vaccine.
- Bear River Health Department (Box Elder, Cache, and Rich): Out of vaccines for the week of October 12-16. Another shipment is expected next Tuesday the 20th.
- Weber-Morgan Health Department: Friday October 16th beginning at 1:00 p.m. Available first come first serve to those in the high risk group including pregnant women.
- Davis County Health Department: Infants 6-23 months, and anyone under 17 with other health problems
- Wasatch Health Department: Out of the actual vaccine for the week, but there are small amounts of the flu mist available to the high-risk groups.
- Tooele Health Department: Open Saturday October 17th from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. The vaccine is available to pregnant women, health care workers, those caring for an infant under six-months in age, and anyone from six-months to 24-years old.
- Salt Lake Health Department: Only kids under the age of 4-years-old are currently eligible for the vaccine.
- Utah County Health Department: They ask people to self regulate and only bring in their kids if they are under two-years-old. But they take anyone that is in line if they feel they need the vaccine.
- Summit County Health Department: Received another batch next Tuesday. Most of it was gone by Thursday, but In the Park City area, vaccines will be available Friday at the Sheldon Richins Building, 6505 N Landmark Drive, from 1 to 4 p.m.
- Tri-County Health Department (Daggett, Duchesne, Uintah): Children 6-48 months, pregnant women, health care workers, those caring for an infant under six-months, anyone under 18 with a preexisting medical condition, and those ages 25-64 with a cronic medical condition.
- Central Utah Health Department (Juab, Millard, Piute, Sanpete, Sevier, Wayne): Given to the priority cases as listed by the CDC.
- Southeastern Utah Health Department (Carbon, Emery, Grand, San Juan): The clinic is closed until Monday October 19th. Vaccines will be available then.
- Southwestern Utah Health Department (Washington, Iron, Kane, Beaver, Garfield): children six-months to four-years with health problems.
