SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) -A young Utah girl who beat medical odds had a very big wish come true Sunday.

Penguins at Sandy's Living Planet Aquarium were the backdrop for a wish granting for Miabella Brickey by the Make a Wish Foundation of Utah.

Mia survived is Giant Cell Myocarditis. It is so rare, it had never been seen before at Primary Children’s Medical Center. It killed her heart, but a second chance came with a miraculous heart transplant last June.

Sunday, Wish Granters, from Make a Wish, gave her a chance to live a life-long dream, to be a marine biologist for a day at the Vancouver Aquarium. Mia says she was so overcome by excitement she was left speechless. "I have always just wanted to interact with sea animals all kinds of animals."

Her father, Thomas Brickey says they feel blessed, for the wish come true, and for every single day they have with their daughter. "Just to see your child smile, and know that they are happy, is worth everything, even if it’s just another day, you know we say today is a great day, and we are very lucky."

Miabella and her family are now planning their Make a Wish adventure. To find out more about wish granting or to have a wish granted for a child with a life threatening illness, visit www.utahwish.org
