Based on the children’s classic “The Borrowers,” “The Secret World of Arrietty” is a beautifully animated film that will engage any audience with a love for animation.
The only drawback to the film is some of the characters are a bit incomplete. I think the characters of the “mother” and the “housekeeper” needed a bit more work. The style in which they are drawn is different than the other characters in the film.
Both are made to look and act much differently from the other characters, which brought me a bit out of the film.
That being said, “The Secret World of Arrietty” is still well worth seeing, but is not the classic ir should have been
It gets a C and is rated G.
