“The Bourne Legacy” is the continuation of the “Bourne” series that starred Matt Damon. In the new film Jeremy Renner takes on the role of a rogue “outcome” agent who has been genetically altered with enhanced mental and physical abilities.
The story strays from Robert Ludlum’s concept of using brain over brawn and degenerates into just another chase film.
Renner, with genetic scientist Rachel Weiss in tow, runs from one desperate situation to another discovering his roots along the way.
The problem is that as each discovery is made, the plot becomes less and less interesting to the audience until the story finally crescendos into a huge “I don’t care.”
“The Bourne Legacy” deserves a less than average C-.
