SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah (ABC 4 News) - The Utah Lake Commission heard from the public tonight at a hearing on whether a bridge should be built across Utah Lake.

The debate was held at Saratoga Shores Elementary School in Saratoga Springs.

The proposed bridge would span from the west side of the lake to the 800 North exit of I-15 in Orem.

You can give your feedback about the project to the lake commission here: http://ffsl.utah.gov/sovlands/utahlake/bridgecrossing.php

It's a great idea. And having it be a toll bridge would be good because only those who use it would be paying for it.

I think its a wonderful idea with all the congestion on Lehi Main Street we could all use an alternative route to and from Saratoga Springs. I agree we need it now!!!

This is needed and needed now. Saratoga Springs is poised for massive growth. If we don't start this project soon, we will find ourself in a huge traffic jam. The bridge can be a great boom to the local economy. I propose that we start with a people ferry just south of Pelican Bay. It would be called Ferry Crossing: We can build a mall and those who need to go to Salt Lake City, they can park on at Ferry Crossing and take a ferry across the lake where they can take the RTA's Front Runner to work. The bridge can also start there and terminate at 8th north in Orem.
