DEER VALLEY, Utah (ABC4 News) - One of the most expensive homes for sale in the country right now is right here in Utah. Jon Huntsman Senior is selling his home in Deer Valley for fifty-five million dollars.
The home is twenty thousand square feet and it sits on sixty-four acres. It was finished in 1989.
"We are going to be getting national attention for the fact that this home is on the market. It is one of the most unique homes in the entire United States particularly because it's a resort area, it's spectacular," Dee Dee Corradini says.
Former Salt Lake City Mayor Corradini is a familiar face for Utahns and she is the person showing the house. Corradini says she isn't worried about the hefty price tag in this economy. She says there has already been a lot of interest in the sixteen bathrooms, twelve bedrooms, indoor swimming pool, workout room and dining room that seats twenty.
"This house is absolutely phenomenal. It's one of only two structures in the entire United States of it's kind. The reason for that is if you notice these timbers that were reclaimed from the Yellowstone area, the structural foundation of the entire house is on these timbers. The only other place like it is the lodge at Yellowstone," Corradini says.
All that and we haven't even talked about the garage yet. It houses twenty cars comfortably, but Huntsman Senior's classic car collection is not for sale and neither is one of the largest collections of Native American rugs and artifacts in the United States. But the rest of the furniture, custom made of course, comes with the home.
The Huntsman family is focused now on property they own in Driggs, Idaho and are hoping the Deer Valley home can belong to a new family or families. Corradini calls it a hidden jewel, just waiting for the right person to discover.
If you think you are that person or if you would just like to take a peek of the house for yourself, there is a benefit at the Huntsman Senior home coming up on August 19th. The United States women's ski jumping team is hoping to raise money to support the team that night. Tickets are two hundred dollars per person. For more information you can go to www.wsjusa.com
