It’s free, it’s fresh…and it’s Friday! Back by popular demand, here’s this week’s edition of Free Fridays. Freebie number one? Starting Monday, the Utah Symphony will be giving free concerts around Salt Lake County. On June 29th, they will be performing in Taylorsville, June 30th in West Valley City, July 8th at the Abravanel Hall, and July 15th in Sandy. Compositions will include selections from Star Wars and the 1812 Overture, just to name a few!

Now that the sun's here to stay, get your kids out to enjoy Utah's wildlife with REI’s “Passport to Adventure” program. You can grab one of these passports at REI or visit the posted link. REI Manager Lincoln Clark says, “Complete the book, send it in…at the end of the summer, after it's completed, you get some really cool prizes that are no charge to you.” Prizes like cool camping gear, a compass, and a magnifying glass.
Our last freebie? School doesn't have to be “in session” for your kids to get a school lunch. In fact, this federally funded program provides nutritious meals for kids all summer long. It's called “Summer Meals for Kids,” and there are dozens of locations around the Valley that participate Monday through Friday!
As for this week’s mystery freebie, popular children’s songs vocalist Eric Herman will be performing family concerts at Salt Lake County library locations going on from Thursday, June 25 through Thursday, July 2nd. For a list of participating libraries, visit the posted link.
