Confirmed Utah swine flu cases increases to 27

SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) - Utah public health officials reported that 27 cases of swine flu have been confirmed, while confrimation of 22 other probable cases is pending.

Here is the breakdown by county:

-28 cases from Summit County (21 confirmed)
-12 cases from Salt Lake County (4 confirmed)
-2 cases from Weber-Morgan Health District (1 confirmed)
-3 cases from Utah County* (1 confirmed)

* Two are Utah County residents, but were not present in Utah during their incubation period or illness.

3 cases from Central Utah Health District and 1 case from Southwest Utah Public Health District.

The Utah health department has begun active surveillance for severe illness associated with Novel H1N1
Flu.

None of the cases required hospitalization.
