SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 News) – There are three stories we want to update and show how ABC 4 viewers have touched the lives of so many.

In just three days, 167 seven winter coats have been donated to Oquirrh Elementary School. That is over half of the goal set by Principal Nancy Ward. She says, “I have been completely overwhelmed by the response of the community to the story that ran on Channel 4.”

Over at Majestic Elementary - another Jordan District school in need - the principal is sorting through over 400 pairs of shoes that have been donated. The hope is that the students will get to go home with them as soon as Friday.

ABC 4 is also a sponsor of Toys for Tots and again, our viewers have stepped up. About 26,000 unwrapped toys have been donated. Those will support 6,000 kids from 2,500 different families. Sgt. Steven Young says, “What we need is above 10... both boys and girls and there's any number of toys that can fit that category.”

Donations can be dropped off at Toys for Tots bins at over 130 locations throughout Salt Lake County. Their distribution will be from December 16th to 22nd.
