The State of Utah voter education website is at:
http://www.vote.utah.gov. The site is a one-stop source for all things vote. It provides everything a Utah voter needs to know about issues, candidates and what’s going to be on the ballot for the general election, Nov. 6, 2012.
The website was developed and is overseen by the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, Greg Bell. The Lt. Governor’s office is charged with overseeing elections throughout the state of Utah.
The site consolidates services and features in one convenient location on the web. Launched in 2010,
http://www.vote.utah.gov has been optimized with even more features to help Utah voters navigate the upcoming general election.
Early voting begins on Oct. 23rd and ends on Nov. 2nd 5 p.m. A page on the site lists all the EARLY VOTING locations throughout Utah.
During the Early Voting window,
http://www.vote.utah.gov will offer electronically updated wait times at all early voting locations. This will help people plan their day and make things easier. It will show you a map of all the locations as well as prompts on how long the wait is to vote at each.
You can also view a sample ballot, specific for you if you register, for review prior to voting. You can register at:
http://www.vote.utah.gov for information specific to you – including your polling location, what’s on your individual ballot, information on current elected officials and office-holders.
There is also information and easy links for REGISTERING TO VOTE ONLINE or, for convenience sake, REQUESTING AN ABSENTEE BALLOT. This gives you the option to VOTE BY MAIL. But you must register to vote by mail by Oct. 9.
You will also find a link to the new JUDGES.UTAH.GOV, a new website that will give you important information on Utah judges who are up for reelection on this year’s ballot. The Judicial Performance Evaluation Commission (JPEC) now provides evaluations reports on every judge on this year’s ballot.
Do you attend a Utah college or university? The site is working with colleges across the state to encourage students to participate in the election. Check out the “Pledge to Vote” portion of the website.
The OPTION to sign-up for TEXT and E-MAIL reminders on early voting and other information. If you register, you’ll be sent a TEXT 24 hours in advance of Election Day with your specific polling location and the hours it will be open.
The site offers several social networking tools for people to share information via e-mail, Facebook, Twitter and others.
