The Utah Council for Citizen Diplomacy (UCCD) presents the 30th Anniversary Vivaldi by Candlelight Benefit Concert, Saturday, December 15th, 8:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church in Salt Lake City. As Utah’s only “all Baroque” concert it has long been a beloved fixture of the holiday season. This year’s special event, bringing Utah’s premier musicians, with Gerald Elias as Music Director, and violinist, features world-renowned British oboist David Cowley of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales and the ever-popular Four Seasons by Vivaldi, all set to beautiful candlelight. It’s truly magical!
The concert brings the Utah community together to support the Utah Council for Citizen Diplomacy (UCCD). As Utah’s only organization of its kind, UCCD brings nearly 500 international leaders from 130 different countries to Utah each year for professional and cultural exchanges. UCCD is guided by the principle of citizen diplomacy – the idea that we as citizens have the right, even the responsibility, to help shape U.S. foreign relations “one handshake at a time.” Citizen diplomacy has been recognized by the U.S. State Department as one of its most effective tools.
