LOCAL INDEPENDENT FILMMAKER BRINGS REAL LIFE DRAMA TO BIG SCREEN
‘Darkroom’ Premiere scheduled for limited-seating audience at Gateway Megaplex Theatres

Weird Chief Pictures, in association with Spy Hop Productions and Black Sheep Productions presents the world premiere and sneak preview of the psychological drama, ‘Darkroom’ on Wednesday, February 20th, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at the Gateway Megaplex Theatres.

Darkroom is the second feature film together for local artist/filmmaker Iosua (Josh) Tai Taeoalii and Spy Hop Productions teacher and mentor, Jeremy Nielsen. Based on a true story, Darkroom is a psychological drama that illustrates the events of David Mills, played by David Stevens (Punch Drunk Love) and his wife, Coy, who develop crime scene photos for the Salt Lake Police Department. The horrifying photos cause a constant state of melancholy in their lives and David suffers a dangerous disconnect from reality. Coupled with personal tragedy in their lives, the story illustrates their journey to rid the cloud over their lives and bridge the distance in their relationship.

“My filmmaking style has always been to take many real life challenges and implement those struggles into the lives of authentic characters,” said director, Iosua Tai Taeoalii. “I truly believe it to be a healing and learning path to living a more fulfilled and joyful life.”
