Wednesday morning, a delegation of nine Boy Scouts from across the country, including Venturer Jennifer Lowe of Spanish Fork, represented the Boy Scouts of America in Congress to present the organization’s annual Report to the Nation. The Report, designated in the BSA’s Congressional charter, highlights the BSA’s achievements during its milestone 100th anniversary year in 2010, including progress on Scouting programs that address national service, conservation, healthy living, and community involvement.
The group was able to meet President Obama and Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, himself a Distinguished Eagle Scout. 2011 marks the first time Rep. John Boehner received the Report in his new role as Speaker of the House.
