Amber Packer demonstrates and adorable home grown map of the United States. This map is a beautiful home decor item, a fun way to help children know where they are going on a road trip this summer and a great help for your 5th grade child who will be studying the United States. Or, if your family is scattered across the U.S., add push pins and string to help your children know where they all are. This project is perfect no matter what country you call home. I simply searched the internet for an outline map of the United States.

Lush flocked alphabet

Lush adhesive rhinestones

1 each: Simple black frame (sample size is: 11 x 14)

Also used: adhesive, scissors or craft knife and pad, pencil, black or brown pen, white cardstock (for pattern)

Simple Instructions:

Print two patterns of the map.

Cut one just inside the outside border (this is your base).

Cut apart second pattern (try to keep in order).

Starting with the west coast, trace each state from different patterned paper, ink edges and adhere to base before cutting another state.

Repeat step 4 for each of the remaining 47 continental states. Keep an eye on how the map is looking. Don't put the same paper by next to itself.

Cut out and ink edges of Alaska and Hawaii.

Create background from backside of Spontaneous Flower paper.

Place map centered side to side and slightly below center top to bottom.

Place Alaska & Hawaii and "United States of America"

Be sure you like where everything is placed and adhere to background.

Mount in frame and ENJOY!
