Recipe for Gummy Worm Cake
Chocolate Frosting
1 cup Butter
11/3 cup cocoa powder
6 cups powdered sugar
2/3 cup whole milk
2 t. Vanilla extract
Melt the butter on stove top or in microwave, let cool.
Place in mixer, add cocoa and mix
Alternate adding powdered sugar and milk
Beat with a paddle until desired constancy, if need be add more milk
Stir in vanilla
Cake Mix
Duncan Hines or your favorite brand of chocolate cake mix
1 small box of instant chocolate pudding mix
Place pudding with cake before adding wet ingredients and follow
directions on cake box
Dirt for top of cake
When cutting layers save top of cake, crumble and place on sheet pan at 350 degrees in oven for about 10-15 minutes until dry or crisp. Let cool, place on top of cake and add gummy worms.
Recipe for Spider web cake
Frosting
2c heavy whipping cream
ΒΌ c sugar
1 t flavor extract
Whip until stiff peaks, just until it thickens up
Ganache for web
1 cup dark chocolate like Ghiradelli
1 cup of heavy cream
Melt chocolate over a bain marie, place a bowl over a pot with 1/3 of water
Once melted add cream stir and let cool
Place in piping bag to decorate cake
Frosting:
9 oz cream Cheese
6 cups confections sugar
2 Tbs. milk
8 drops yellow food coloring
6 drops red food coloring
Beat until smooth
Glaze
3 oz semisweet chocolate
1/3 cup heavy whipping cream
Microwave chocolate and cream 1.5 min
Let cool 2 min and pour over cake
