 Homemade Oreos

1 pkg. Devil's Food cake mix
½ cup shortening
2 eggs

Mix shortening and eggs together until incorporated well. Add all of the cake mix at once. Mix until stiff dough forms. Roll into small round balls, and then flatten on cookie sheet. Cookies will spread. Bake for 8 minutes at 350 degrees. Cool Cookies. Sandwich two cookies together with your favorite buttercream or cream cheese frosting.

Heart Shaped:
Press dough to about ¼ inch thick. Use heart shape cookie cutter and cut out heart shape. Reuse excess dough to make additional cookies. Put hearts in freezer for 5 minutes to firm up. This will help the cookie keep its heart shape. Bake for 8 minutes at 350 degrees.  Cool Cookies. Sandwich two cookies together with pink buttercream or cream cheese frosting.
