Five sisters from the Utah Shamrocks softball team back in the 1950s came on to talk softball and about the movie "A League of Their Own".
It has been 20 years since the film was released and to celebrate, Geena Davis, the star of the movie, will be at the Salt Lake Bees game tonight to throw the first pitch. They will also show the movie on the stadium's giant screen after the game for all the fans to enjoy. These 5 sisters plus two more team mates will also be in attendance at the game and will be honored before it starts. They played softball together for years back in the 1950s and had a great time. They say it really helped them to come together as family and friends and that even after all these years, they still get together to have lunch together often. They also said back when they were playing, they were only getting paid three dollars a day. They are happy to see softball come so far and to see many players doing better than three dollars a day and also to see so many getting scholarships in college to play as well.
