A SwiftLift is not the "mini-lift" which tightens the skin only. It tightens the deeper structures of the lower face which assures a long-lasting result. It is not a procedure which addresses problems with the brows, eyelids, or wrinkles in those areas. Additional procedures may be performed including eyelid surgery, forehead lift, chemical peels, laser resurfacing and Botox.
A SwiftLift will improve the jowls, the marionette (drool) lines and the upper neck. Marionette lines are the deep lines that run from the corner of the mouth to the chin and are difficult to eliminate with standard procedures.
A SwiftLift incision is about one half the length of a regular facelift incision. There is a very little, if any, incision behind the ear because it is not necessary with this procedure. However, if excessive neck skin exists, the incision can be modified to better treat this area. The surgical time involved is shorter, resulting in less swelling, less bruising, and therefore a faster recovery. Typical recovery time is about 7-14 days.
