Scrapping to Breathe Fundraiser
September 12 at 10am - 10pm
Courtyard Marriott Layton
Benefits the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

Brenda Hurd of Fancy Pants Designs shares how to make a special display frames feature someone you love.

Supply List

  • Frame - Fancy Pants Designs or you can use any frame (just replace the glass with acrylic that can be bought at any craft store)
  • Scrapbooking Paper - Fancy Pants Designs
  • Journal Notebook - Fancy Pants Designs
  • Letter Stickers - American Crafts (any letter stickers will work)
  • Chipboard and acrylic letters - Fancy Pants Designs (again any chipboard and acrylic letters will work)
  • School pictures!!
  • Others - buttons, brads, chipboard elements (we will use star, tab by Fancy Pants Designs)

Directions

  1. One 5x7 picture or numerous wallets can be used (if you would like to showcase all of your kids on one layout use the smaller wallets.)

  2. I used the Journal notebooks for the title because they take up a lot of space and add a decorative edge to your picture - it leaves out a lot of the guess work in putting the layout together and makes it more simple.

  3. *Add a title - either the school year if you have multiple children or the grade for one.
    Embellish with buttons, chipboard.

  4. Take Acrylic out of frame and place it on the table. Leave plastic on the back so it doesn't get scratched while working on the front.

  5. Place 8x8 layout in desired location.

  6. Choose letters and place them where you would like - make sure they are where you want before adhering them.

  7. Attach layout with brads

About Cystic Fibrosis

Cystic Fibrosis is the most common fatal genetic disease, affecting about 30,000 children and young adults in the U.S.  It affects the lungs and digestive system and causes the body to produce abnormally thick sticky mucus. The mucus leads to life threatening lung infections that, in time, result in lung transplant or death.  Those with Cystic Fibrosis endure a few hours a day of physical therapy, inhalers, breathing treatments, and takes enzymes before each meal and snack. The life expectancy of someone with Cystic Fibrosis has increased dramatically over the years and the median age of survival is close to 37 years. We are getting closer than ever in finding a cure.
