Utah Dance Artists will be participating in this year’s Festival of Trees for and in behalf of Sierra Lynn Newbold.

Sierra Newbold was a part of the Utah Dance Artists family for two years before her life was taken much too soon. She was a victim of a senseless crime this past summer.

Sierra was outgoing and made friends everywhere she went. She had the amazing ability to make everyone happy with her big brown eyes and beautiful smile. Sierra was eager to grow up, drive, and get her "very own" cell phone. She loved to dance, hike, play soccer and draw. Sierra loved life and lived it to the fullest!

As an advocate for children, Utah Dance Artists wants to raise money this year for Primary Children’s Medical Center; creating a tree in Sierra Newbold’s memory for the Festival of Trees.

The Festival of Trees is an incredible event that displays more than 700 trees that are lavishly decorated and then donated so that they can be purchased by individuals, families, organizations, businesses, and church groups.

Everyone involved in this event donates their time, services and finances; businesses provide the paper and printing of posters and tickets, corporations offer their covered trucks and drivers to help deliver the trees.

It is these contributions by thousands that make this such a magical event. Last year, the Festival raised $1,655,931.40 for children at Primary Children's Medical Center.

The theme of Sierra's tree will be involving “ballet” as this is what kind of dance Sierra loved most. UDA hopes to not only decorate the tree with ornaments that display the theme of ballet, but to also add items underneath the tree that encompass this theme as well.

Any donation that can be given by a business or organization to build the value of this tree will result in a greater selling price; hence, a greater donation to Primary Children’s Medical Center.

All items or money that is donated for the Festival of Trees is a tax write off. If an amount of the donation is provided we can write a letter of acknowledgment and your donation can be used as a tax
