Randy Schroeder, Store Manager of the Layton location of Les Schwab came on Good Things Utah to talk about "Doing the Right Things" and their 60th year anniversary.
Founder’s Day Promotion/Background
•Les Schwab started as a small tire store in Prineville, Oregon, back in 1952 and even though we have expanded to more than 400 stores, we’ve kept our small-town values.
•Les believed in going above and beyond for his customers. He knew treating customers fairly was the right things do, and he committed his entire company to it from the start. .
•Forty nine years ago Les Schwab started its Free Beef promotion as a way to say thank you to farmers and ranchers who were his customers in rural communities where the company had its first stores. The initial promotion was based on a beef gift certificate that was given to customer when they purchased tires.
•Les Schwab’s Free Beef promotion has seen many changes over its 49 years; and this year, to celebrate our 60th anniversary, we’re giving our customers a chance to win $500 in free beef, or they can take the cash instead. No purchase necessary.
•Les Schwab will have 1500 winners company wide. The promotion will run from January 16 to February 29.
•We’re very proud of what we do, and want to say thank you to our customers for a great 60 years.

Do The Right Thing
Les Schwab wants to recognize people in Utah who are making a difference in the lives of others and for doing the right thing. Their motto is "Doing The Right Things Since 1952" because at Les Schwab that is how they conduct business every day.
At Les Schwab they have a culture of going above and beyond…always doing more than what is expected.
They are personally committed to providing good, honest service to customers and being good neighbors; and we love to recognize others who are making a difference in our community.
This year Les Schwab has been recognizing those that are doing good things—those involved with fundraising, service, charity events - people who do the right thing and help others without expecting something in return.
