Kitchen Beautician Tips - Baking Soda

Topic: Hands smell like dinner, fish, onion or garlic lingering after cooking?
What you need: baking soda, water, liquid soap, small bowl, measuring spoons
To make: mix a solution 3 parts baking soda, 1 part liquid soap, use water to dilute if too thick, spoon
To use: Rub your hands together in the solution, rinse

Topic: Athletic mouth-guards, retainers, dental appliances getting a little grungy and smelly?
What you need: toothbrush, small bowl, baking soda, warm water, measuring spoon
To make: dissolve 1 tablespoon baking soda in 1 cup warm water
To use: dip toothbrush in baking soda and scrub dental appliance rinse and place in solution soak for a few hours or overnight, rinse off
(*hint this solution is also great for cleaning your toothbrush and freshening it up)

Topic: Skin feeling a little dry and flaky?
What you need: baking soda, measuring spoon, small bowl, spoon
To make: make a paste 3 parts baking soda, 1 part warm water, mix
To use: use the paste as an exfoliating scrub, rinse

Topic: Sunburn pain
What you need: baking soda, large bowl, water, washcloth
To make: mix 4 tablespoons baking soda in 1 quart of cool water
To use: saturate the washcloth in the cool solution and lightly pat on the sunburn
