Salt Lake City, Utah – The Great Salt Lake Chili Affair is one of the hottest events of the year. On top of having a great time, attendees have the opportunity to help a great organization – The Road Home.
This year The Chili Affair will be held on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 from 5:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. at The Salt Palace Convention Center – Exhibit Hall E. For just $42 a person you can enjoy chili, salad, bread, and dessert, from some of Salt Lake’s most popular restaurants. A table for eight costs $300, children 12 and under get in FREE.

Last year the over 1,200 guests helped us exceed our fundraising goal of $140,000.

There will be chilies, salads, breads, and desserts from everyone’s favorite local restaurants. All attendees are encouraged to vote for their favorite chili. Great music provided by Calvary Baptist Church Choir, Samba Fogo, Salt Lake Capoiera – Volta Miuda, Odyssey Dance Theatre, and many more.

The Chili Affair is a very important annual fundraiser for The Road Home. Last year The Road Home provided 328,560 shelter nights to 6,746 people, including 3,857 single men, 815 single women, and 659 families consisting of 1,232 children and 941 adults. The mission of The Road Home is to help people out of homelessness and back into our community.
About The Road Home
The Road Home operates out The Salt Lake Community Shelter, the largest homeless shelter in Utah. They begin by providing people with basic needs such as food, clothing, and shelter – while immediately working with them to develop a plan for housing. Their programs are designed to connect people with resources to help integrate them back into the community. It is estimated there are at least 16,522 people across Utah who are homeless each year.
