It's the 10th Anniversary tour and The Monsters of Hip Hop have come to Utah and they will be at Center Stage for the next couple of days. Gene Burdette, the Director of MOHH says, "We are very excited to be here, bringing our professional choreographers, auditions for opportunities on our tenth anniversary tour, we are excited to bring this here and try it here. we have been touring all over the country for so long, internationally at well. it has been a really great year."
There is something for everyone, but if you love Hip Hop this is where you need to be, their choreographers are industry profesonals, working with all the top names in the entertainment industry today. If you want to break into this industry. the MOHH can help you. Burdette adds, "The connections are great, instruction, fresh choreography, fresh music, people working with the artist as well as connection to their industry and the networking."
The genre of Hip Hop is everywhere today, you may not even be aware, but you are seeing every where, did you watch a commercial today, a music video, it has become ingrained in our culture for both the young and now the old. Things have evolved and changed, says Burdette, "Changed from what it was in the beginning. it has evolved. We are excited to be a part of that. You look from the artist way back, Bronx and the BBoy styles, Mr. Wiggles, Popping Pete, all these guys that taught with us in the past that bring the old school styles. and we have Marty Kudelka bringing new styles. Tabitha and Napolean, Kevin Maher, this weekend bringing in the newer style to the scene so it is definately changing and evolving and we're excited to be a part of that as it moves forward."
The dance style has also attracted boys to dance, local dancer Chris Castillo says, "Boys, teenagers, see people dancing in background of music video, they get inspired. so I'm glad when I am on stage I get to inspire people." With all of the dance shows on television now, that also can help inspire young people to get up and dance. Then Chris did just that, we then saw a number performed by Chris.
