Picture hanger bar
Measure sides of picture frame.
Cut 1x3 boards to form a box sized to fit under the picture frame.
Cut two more pieces of 1x3 wide enough to span the inside width of the box.
Pre-drill holes for the screws on the outside boards.
Glue sides and screw together.
Glue sides and screw extra 1x3s to the inside of the box , 1” from the bottom and the top of the box.
Paint inside and outside of box desired color.
Using the tin snips (and wearing gloves) cut a piece of hardware cloth to size of box frame.
Place hardware cloth across the front of the box and use a stapler to tack cloth in place.
Center picture frame on top of hardware cloth and nail to the box.
Predrill for finish nails in the corners and down the sides of the picture frame. Using finish nails, hammer into place.
Cut masonite to fit the back of the box.
Paint masonite or cover with fabric or even scrapbook paper.
Attach masonite with painted side facing the hardware cloth onto the back of the box using the finish nail. Again be sure to pre-drill.
Cut Screen molding to fit across the face of the 1x3s that were placed 1” from top and bottom.
Attach the screen molding on top of hardware cloth but to the 1x3s.
Attach the magnetic strip to one of the screen moldings and predrill holes for nails on the remaining screen molding. Carefully hammer nails into pre-drilled holes.
Attach picture hanger bar on back of masonite.
Hang earrings on hardware cloth and necklace and bracelets on nails.
