Find the right sandal to make your legs look fabulous!

When looking for the right shoe for your foot…take three factors into consideration.  First, look at the shape of your foot.  Next look at your ankle width and lastly look at the size of your calf and length of your leg.

*Remember most women will look better with a heel even if it is a half-inch heel.  Problems arise when heels are over two and a half inches – save very high heels for special occasions.  Toes and heels should not hang over the front or back of the shoe. Make sure with open toed shoes that pinky toes are falling over the side of the shoe.*

Here are a few guidelines for spring shoe shopping ...

Strappy Shoes

Be careful of strappy shoes, especially if you have short legs or wide calves. The gladiator sandal is not for everyone.  Too many straps on the leg will break up the leg line and make your legs look wide.  Keep the straps below the ankle and on the bridge of the foot.

Wide Foot

Avoid shoes with square toes and large chunk heel. Choose shoes with a pointed or round toe and a high slim heel.

Narrow Foot

Avoid shoes with long pointy toes.  Make sure shoe is in proportion with ankle and calf. Choose open toed shoes with moderate to high heels. Wedge heel is a great choice.

Thick Ankles/Large Calves

Avoid any type if strap or lace that cuts at the ankle.  The strap makes the ankle look thicker and flat shoes are also a no.  Choose shoes with a slim heel, even a kitten heel works well. Chunky soles tend to add bulk, flat shoes will also add width.  A medium heeled slide and sling back pump works well.  Also try sandals with a wedge and thin straps that wrap around the back of the sides of the foot.

Moderate to Thin Ankles

Ankle straps are chic if your ankle is well defined and your calfs are thin.  Make sure that the strap is not to thick and does add width to your calf if you are wearing a short skirt.  Be careful with ankle straps if you have short legs.

Small Feet with Large Frame

If your frame is larger and you have small feet – make sure your body does not look top heavy.  Avoid round toes, flat shoes, ankle straps and chunky heels.  Choose shoes with high, slim heels that will add length and put the body into proportion. Shoes with pointy toes or square give dimension.

Large Feet with Small Frame

Avoid pointy toes.  This shoe will only make your feet look longer. Choose a round, square or oval toe.

Short Legs

Heels are a must, especially slim to medium width.  Avoid flats; even casual shoes should have a little lift. Be careful with ankle straps, the strap can cut your leg in half and make it look shorter.
