You probably have your back-to-school checklists... is an eye exam on the list?

Justin Holt, O.D., from West Point Eye Center says it's a good idea to get a check-up even if you don't think they're having problems seeing.

Eye problems can go undetected, and can interfere with a child's learning.  Sometimes back-to-school eye exams aren't enough and don't catch eye problems, and kids should really see a doctor, according to Dr. Holt.

Dr. Holt also addressed an issue that is difficult for many parents, and that is when kids refuse to wear their glasses.  He says let a child pick out their own frames.  There are many styles and designs that appeal to children these days.

Dr. Holt is located at 3110 West 300 North, Suite D in West Point, Utah.  (801) 825-WPEC (9732).
