Instructions for the 'Artist's Texured Wall'

Materials:

Flat trowel

Notched trowel

Assorted wood pieces, glass shards, marbles, ornaments, jewels, mugs, misc...

Latex paint

Paint rags or sponge

Paint tray

Paintbrush

Patching plaster

Craft adhesive

Step 1
Using the flat trowel, apply 1/8"-1/4" thick patching palster in 4' square sections to the wall.

Step 2
Pull the notched trowell through a few of the wet areas to create a design of textured lines. Use your finger to draw designs and words.

Step 3
Press glass shards, marbles, ornaments, wood pieces, etc...into the wet plaster. Allow to dry about eight hours.

Step 4
Thin one part paint with one part water. Use the paintbrush to apply on to the wall, filling in bumps and cracks.

Step 5
Use a wet paint rag or sponge and wipe off small amounts of paint in some areas, and more in other areas, creating a varied look. Rinse out the rag or sponge occasionally, and continue until entire wall is colored.

Step 6
Sometimes when wiping the wall down, some of the pieces fall out, if this happens, glue them back in, or you may add more at this time if you feel it needs more detail.
