Listening to Raja Bell at the Jazz press conference today made me realize how much I missed him. He was one of my favorite players while he was here, and I'm glad he's back. I think the fans are glad he's back as well.
He talked about how he left before, when he signed with Phoenix just about 20 minutes after free agency opened up. It smacked of tampering, but he said the Suns just called him, made him a great offer, and said it would not be on the table very long. So he took it. Even Jazz GM Kevin O'Connor acknowledged it was a good busniess decision for him.
But now he's back. I doubt the fans will hold anything against him. The first time he knocks down a 3-pointer, or shuts down Kobe Bryant, all will be forgiven. Plus I think the Jazz fans still liked him even when he played for other teams. He's just a good guy.
He's getting older, but I still think he can help the Jazz. He's tough, he wants to win, and he gives everything he has. If he stays healthy, he will definately help the team. So welcome back, Raja! Let the bell ringing begin.
