I usually don't do this, but I'm going to pat myself on the back. So indulge me.
Back on Feb. 8, I ran a story saying Utah and Colorado would be invited to the PAC-10. I had good sources, and had done my homework. That story generated a lot of press, not just here in Utah, but around the country. My son sent me a text the next morning saying newspapers and internet stories were quoting me and it was a big deal.
It was a big deal. But locally, I took a lot of flack. I mean a lot! Talk radio stations and the papers ripped me, saying I was way off base and how would I know anything and blah blah blah.
Well, guess what, kids? I was right. But where are the talk radio staions and newspapers now? No one has given me the credit for breaking the story back in February. Normally, I wouldn't care. But this time, I do, because they all took shots at me and said I was way off base. If they wanted to rip me then, why aren't they giving me credit now?
I got it right. I broke the story. It went down the way I said it would. If no one else will give me credit, then I'll just have to toot my own horn. Way to go, Wesley! Nice job!
