The Utah Jazz are set to open training camp this week. It seems a little soon, but I don't hear anyone complaining.
This is the perfect time of year. The weather is still awesome (knock on wood) and almost every sport is going on right now. College football, NFL, baseball, golf, soccer, hockey, NASCAR and now the NBA. For a sports fan, and for sportscasters, it doesn't get any better than this. There used to be breaks between the big sports, but not any more. All the seasons overlap and run into each other. That's cool, because it keeps us busy.
A quick thought on Jazz camp. It should be a fun year, with all the new faces. It will be interesting to see how the new guys blend in and how the chemistry works out. I'm still trying to figure out what the heck Kyrylo Fesenko is thinking. He wants to make more money, and more power to him. But really, he's not that good. He should take the Jazz offer, work on his game and try to improve, and hopefully that will result in a bigger contract down the line. But right now, he doesn't deserve one. Just sign on the dotted line and be happy you have a job. Its like Frank Layden always said...you can't teach heighth. Fesenko has it, and he should be grateful.
