It seems like everyday there is some new bit of news or some new rumor about which teams might be jumping to which conferences. It's been crazy. No one knows how things will shake out. We just know that college football will never be the same.
There is talk that when the dust settles, there will be 4 so-called "super conferences". Maybe that will be the case, maybe not. Things have been spiraling so fast its hard to know what will happen. But I thought it was kind of cool that the PAC-12 said it was happy with what it had right now, and it was not interested in expanding again. That seemed to put the brakes on a lot of the talk of other teams moving, at least for the time being.
What will happen to the schools not in the super conferences? Where will BYU end up? I'm telling you, I would hate to be Tom Holmoe right now, of any athletic director at a school on the outside looking in. They need to be in one of the "right" conferences, but who knows if they'll get invited?
The only thing I know is that Dr. Chris Hill, the athletic director at Utah, is probably sleeping well these days. No matter what happens, his school is in. That has to be a good feeling, especially with so much chaos and so many rumors swirling around.
