This was a great weekend for watching sports. And reporting on it!

The Utah Blaze made history by playing in the first ever outdoor Arena League football game. Indoor football...outside?!? The game took place in Spokane, and it wa a big draw. Over 16,000 fans showed up to watch it. Too bad the Blaze came out on the short end of the score.

The 113th Utah State Am golf tournament took place at Soldier Hollow. 288 golfers teed it up on Wednesday, and by Saturday evening they were down to just 2. In the end, Jeff Evans won it. The State Am is always a great event, and the UGA does a great job running it.

The US women's soccer team had an incredible comeback against Brazil in the quarterfinals of the World Cup. They were trialinig by a goal, and it was late in the extra time. They were dead. But somehow, Abby Wambach scored to sent the game into penalty kicks, and keeper Hope Solo did an awesome job, and the US won it. They advance to the semi's, where they will take on France on Wednesday. It was cool to watch, and I'm sure more fans will be jumping on the bandwagon. Those women are awesome and fun to watch, and they believe they can win it all. It was a great lesson about never giving up and playing hard right to the end of the game, because you never know what can happen.

Then there was the 9th stage of the Tour De France. Did you see what happened on Sunday? A car hit a biker, who took out another biker, sending him flying into a barbed wire fence! It was unbelievable! The car was trying to avoid running into a tree, and he clipped the rider. The amazing part was that both riders finished the stage. They were cut up pretty good, but they perservered. Talk about never giving up! It was incredible video.

All in all, it was a fun weekend. I also had my high school reunion on Saturday. It was great to see so many old friends, "old" being the operative word there. But that's a story for another day!
