Going to Las Vegas at the end of July seems like a bad idea. It was crazy hot down there, 105 in the shade, and there was no shade. But we had a reason for going-the Mountain West Conference football media day.
We flew into town and hit the ground running. We interviewed all 9 coaches and all 18 players and the commissioner. It was a long day and as soon as we fed our story back to the station, we went back to the airport and flew home. So it was a quick trip.
But even though its still July, I'm starting to get excited for the upcoming season. Talking with the coaches and players, you can sense the excitement and anticipation. Its been a long off-season for them, and they're anxious to get back out there, strapped on the pads, and hit somebody. And I'm anxious to cover it!
There's still plenty of golf left to do, but football season is closing in. Bring it on, says I!
