in times, the AD and administration will puff-put the won-loss record, and BYU will still always be presented as a shiny beacon of virtue on the hill... they can do no wrong, so why bother trying to inform them of same?

This is funny. The guy is saying you guys deserve better. He is on your side here. Yes he is a Utah a fan but he is also a huge college football fan in general. I feel like he does a pretty good job staying fair in his reporting. All he is saying is that BYU is a much better program and will benefit majorly joining the big least. Leave it to some zoob to use this as an excuse to vent and brag about his ESPN deal. I forget that you are holier than Mr. Ruff.

Hmm last time I checked Wesley Ruff was a Ute homer. So is commentary is totally biased. Also it BYU's first year of independence, I think the AD did a pretty good job of putting together a schedule that fast. Oh and let's see NMSU better than UNM, Idaho better than UNLV, Central FL better than, SDSU, Hawaii = Wyoming. Oh 4 PAC12 teams, one SEC, one BigXII, One MWC soon to be BigXII team and USU and SJSU and yes we did play a 1AA team but what school doesn't now a days? Even your precious Utes played Montana State. BYU fans did get better 7 home games every game on national TV. Beats the crap out of the sucky mtn and lousy commissioner. Oh we made like eight times more money.

Your quote: "How can the administration expect fans to be excited about the program when the team is playing FCS teams, late in the year, late at night, in cold weather, with nothing at stake?" Are you kidding me? BYU had a few months to throw together a 12-game schedule, and did so admirably. Are you also going to complain about the 7 home games, 4 away, and 1 neutral? How about the fact that all of the games were televised nationally with 10 of them on ESPN networks? (By the way, there was ONE FCS game -- singular -- and it was played during the middle of the day in nice weather.) Yeah, the Idaho and NMSU games are late at night. Too bad. I'll be watching them here on the east coast, so it's later for me, but I'm a fan so I'll stay up and watch. If I lived in Utah, I would bundle up and go enjoy the game. Even day games are cold in November, so big deal. And that Hawaii game, man, what a horrible place to go play or visit as a fan (sarcasm intended). Yeah, if they go to the Big East, the schedule will improve, and yeah, if they stay independent, the schedule will improve. I for one am pretty excited about the future schedules as they currently stand. But stay negative if that's what you want. I for one will enjoy my Cougs and watch each and every game because I'm a fan.

Yeah instead we could be siting in the snow watching a team from Uconn or Rutgers who are terrible and don't have a winning tradition.
