I don't understand why texting and driving is increasing in Utah despite a ban and the obvious danger.  Most everyone who drives up or down I-15 can see it happen in plain sight.

I made a point to look for texting drivers on southbound I-15 in the Salt Lake City area one day.  I was shocked to find several drivers texting.  By the way, I was seated comfortably in a front passenger seat.

Honestly, I didn't think much about this problem until I interviewed the Jordan family in Draper.  Tears started to flow when Mareille and Troy talked their son's texting crash.

Xander was texting behind the wheel on his way to school.  He lost control and died.  They didn't know he was texting until they turned on his phone and looked at the time and date stamp.

I will never forget the sobs I heard from Xander's little brother and sister as they listened the interview.

The experience makes me want to shout to the world, STOP TEXTING AND DRIVING!  I think it would make anyone want to shout.

Xander's life was worth more than one text message.  Is your life worth more than one text message?
