Marcos Ortiz: I don't do Black Friday

You won't find me camped out at Best Buy waiting for Black Friday.  I'm not about to  give up my place at the Thanksgiving table in order to save $5 for a coffee maker or grab a $200 no-name plasma tv that doesn't give you a 180 degree quality picture. I tried Black Friday about ten years ago.  I didn't camp out but went into the frenzy at Best Buy (that's when they opened the doors at 5 a.m.  I got there about 5:30.  I walked in and what a scene. I wanted out but people behind me kept pushing me into the store. There was no way out. I couldn't breathe, I couldn't change directions. It was like a giant tsunami wave just shoving me every which way.  I finally made it to the ipods. I was about to grab one but this elderly woman pushed me aside and grabbed it first.  I finally found one and was headed to the cashier when I saw the line that just kept winding and winding.  After that I set the ipod back and pushed and shoved my way out of the place. No mas!  I'm not going back to be upstaged by some elderly person. Not me. I'll just wait and pay an extra $5 for that coffee maker.
