I knew it was going to happen. George Steinbrenner couldn't take the fact that the Texas Rangers outfoxed the Yankees and got Cliff Lee. His heart couldn't take it, no one does that to the Yankees. Kidding aside, The man known as the boss was great for baseball. He made the American League into the dominant league. Of course one might argue that he bought the championships, but at least give him credit. He built an empire out of his own pocket. He never asked taxpayers to renovate and then build a new Yankee stadium. One of my favorite lines from the boss was when Hideki Irabu failed to cover first base ... "he's a fat pussy toad."
No doubt the boss is enjoying the big Yankee dugout in the sky. Lot's of chatter going on right now!
