My beloved Yankees got slapped hard by Tampa Bay.  And now they're faced with the prospect of playing top notch teams down the stretch with a tired pitching rotation.  Manager Joe Girardi seems to be waving the white flag and trying to rest everyone for the playoffs.  Seems like a gamble. Hope if pays off.  And did you notice the last cover of the sports illustrated.  Jim Thome slugging away at Target Center.  But if you go back to sports illustrated's first every cover it's an identical picture except Eddie Mathews is slugging away in first ever cover pix for SI.  Long live Baseball!
