Marcos Ortiz Blog: Scary moments for any parent

It was a tough story today.  A toddler drowned in a pond.  My heart goes out to the parents.  But it's a reminder to any parent that it's difficult to watch a child every second of the day.  They slip out of your sight and when you look up your heart starts beating.  I remember when my daughtger was only three years old.  We were shopping at Nordstrom's.  Mom was buying her clothes and I was watching Olivia.  I happened to look at some clothes and looked towards Olivia and she was gone.  for the next 10 minutes we scoured the store and no luck.  Security helped us out but nothing.  My mind was all over the place.  I finally went to a dressing stall and looked inside.  I had been to that same spot earlier and never went in the dressing room. There she was on the bench trying on some clothes.  When I looked previously I looked under the door not inside.  I just grabbed her and hugged her and held her tightly.  It can happen in a split instant.  My prayers go out to this family.
