There's ways to verify those credentials. police say you can ask for his superiors to verify who is before you. A real police officer won't object and may even use his two way transmission to bring in someone else to verify his identify. If not, you also can call 911 there on the scene for police help. Again this person if he's the real deal, shouldn't object.
