I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas filled with family, friends, and lots of yummy food! I certainly did. My family (pictured right) flew in from Minnesota to see the beautiful state of Utah. They were only here four short days, so I made sure to do my research and planned a jammed-packed weekend. By research, I mean asking my co-workers where I should take them.
We started with a Saturday night downtown. The Temple is beautiful every night of the year, but the lights during Christmas are unforgettable. My mom took plenty of pictures to show her friends back home.
Sunday morning, is there really anything better to do than the Stein Eriksen brunch at Deer Valley? It was spendy but definitely worth every penny. Where else can you find a brunch with eel and pre-cracked crab legs? After stuffing ourselves, we attempted a half day of skiing/boarding at Park City. Surprisingly all that food didn’t slow us down too bad, but I did lose my glove on the lift! I still owe my sister’s friend for going down a double black and rescuing it for me.
But the best part of the weekend was on Christmas Eve. A co-worker joined my family for our traditional Christmas Eve night-- a candlelight church service and then food and board games. There is nothing better than sharing the holidays with people you care about.
I wish everyone a Happy New Year! Let’s do our best to make the year of 2013 a peaceful and joyful one!
