"Where is the snow?" "I'm sick of the crust, where's the powder!" Those are just a few of the comments overhead near the ABC4 weather department the past few days. Some of the comments can't be repeated! OK, it hasn't gotten that bad yet but admittedly we could use a little snow.
Most of our ski resorts are open for business and ski conditions are fantastic. We got a picture of a neatly groomed Deer Valley run earlier this week. I expect conditions are just as good at Alta, Brighton, Park City Mountain and all across the state.
We could use a little fresh snow though and we're hoping to deliver next week. You know, this time last year we were already more than 100" on our way through a record winter season. Most ski resorts have about half the snow they had this time last year.
Your ABC4 weather team is glued to the forecast, looking for any possible change in our sunny, dry pattern. The end of the upcoming week is beginning to look promising for at least a little snow. It looks like our first storm of the week will impact the southern part of Utah. We'll wait on storm #2 for the end of the week and the potential for a little fresh powder for next weekend.
